Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Originally developed as a self defence, BJJ has developed into one of the fastest growing sports in the world. From recreational to competition millions around the world have taken to BJJ for its incredible effectiveness and fitness benefits. The Flock MMA teaches both sport and self defence Jiu-Jitsu however we stick to what will work in real life and focus on practical BJJ for self defence.

Kids Jiu- Jitsu

Empower your kids with the gift of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In the crazy world we live in Kids will learn how to defend themselves from bigger opponents, stop a striking opponent and be able to get themselves to safety or neutralize their opponent. Both self defence and competition is taught but at the Flock MMA academy we teach kids to counter bullying with confidence, technique and jiu-jitsu!

Muay Thai Kickboxing

Probably one of the greatest ways to get in shape as well as learning a self defence at the same time. Traditionally trained in Muay Thai Coach Ashton uses Kickboxing drills from traditional Muay Thai as well as MMA. Whats unique about this class is the heavy focus on Dutch style drilling which gives you the real life practical aspect of kickboxing without the dangers from sparring. You will never leave this class without sweating!

Kids Muay Thai

As the saying goes every fight starts on the feet! That means to compliment the jiu-jitsu each kid should learn how to use Muay Thai to defend themselves from strikes. This program focuses on fundamentals. Stance, defence, movement, footwork, punch and kick numbers, combination and bag drills as well as partner work. This high energy, high pace class is always a kid favourite!

Mixed Martial Arts

This is not a busy work class. We Focus on putting it all together. from striking to wrestling to grappling! BUT grappling for MMA is a totally different sport that BJJ. We focus on the dynamic technique involved in MMA, building your skillset to recognize when to use striking or your grappling and lastly how to effectively use MMA in combat.

Boxing

One of the oldest and most effective martial arts. Boxing is known as the sweet science and for good reason. In this class we strictly focus on boxing. Adjusting our stance from kickboxing to effectively learn to turn our punches over and stay in a strong base. Focus will be on learning how to use the ground for energy and putting together simple and complex combos!

Wrestling for BJJ

Not all wrestling techniques will apply to the BJJ component of grappling. thats why in this class we focus strictly on technique that will land us in safe and advantageous BJJ positions. This high energy class is one of the most demanding. It may be the class that sets you apart!
